Crime prevention in Selby
10:59am 7th February 2012
Selby police are inviting residents to weekend crime prevention events in the villages of North Duffield and Kelfield this Saturday.
Officers from Selby Safety Neighbourhood Team will be carrying out free cycle marking, handing out free crime prevention tools including purse bells and Neighbourhood Watch packs and will be available for general crime prevention advice.
They will also be on hand to provide advice about the property register “Immobilise” which reunites owners with stolen property, joining Neighbourhood Watch schemes and the Ringmaster warning system.
The events will be held this Saturday 11 February 2012 between 9.30 and 11.30am in Kelfield village hall and between 12.30 and 2.30pm at North Duffield Primary School.
Police Community Support Officer, Adam Wood of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:
“This is an opportunity for people living in the villages to come along and meet their local police officers, pick up some crime prevention giveaways and get some advice from their local officers.
“The events give us a chance to get out into the more rural areas and meet up with local people. It’s important to be available for people who can’t always get to a police station or approach us on patrol.”
