More female child abusers in North Yorkshire
5:48am 9th November 2009
Nearly 600 children contacted ChildLine's Yorkshire and North East base last year, with sexual abuse as their main concern.
Of those, 105 had been assaulted by a female.
The findings show that more kids are now reporting abuse from a woman, usually their mother.
Nationally, the proportion of youngsters calling ChildLine about a female offender, has risen from 11% in 2005 to 17% in 2009.
