Woman dies after falling from a block of flats in Bridlington

A woman's died after falling 30 feet from a block of flats in Bridlington.

Police were called out at half past eleven last night and officers are still at the scene investigating this morning.

A 36 year old man's been arrested and is currently being interviewed by police.

Humberside Police Statement:

Police were contacted by Ambulance Control shortly after 2330hrs on Monday 09 January who advised that they were attending a report of a woman who had suffered injuries in South Marine Drive in Bridlington.

The woman believed to be in her 40s, had sustained serious injuries after having apparently fallen approximately 30ft from a block of flats.

Police attended and provided medical attention to the injured woman before arrival of paramedics.

Sadly the woman was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later and police commenced inquiries in the area immediately.

The scene was secured and cordoned off, house to house inquiries were commenced at the block of flats and crime scene investigators attended to examine the area.

A 36-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody assisting police with their investigation to establish the circumstances of the incident.

The woman has not yet been formally identified however her next of kin have been made aware of her death and are being supported by police officers.

The death is being investigated and at this time is being treated as unexplained.
