New tool for scheme helping adults with learning difficulties
12:01am 10th January 2012
The Ainsty Inner Wheel group has raised £2,000 to buy a new dishwasher for The Salvation Army in York.
They will be making the presentation on Tuesday 10th January which is 'World Inner Wheel Day' - the birthday of the Inner Wheel organisation.
The money was raised through a number of fundraising initiatives, including a bag-pack at Marks and Spencer.
The Salvation Army runs a training scheme for adults with learning difficulties which enables them to gain catering skills both in the kitchen, and through serving the public meals, drinks and snacks. The new dishwasher was badly needed to improve the efficiency of this training programme and the other community catering taking place at The Salvation Army in York.
The cheque presentation will take place at 12.30 pm on Tuesday 10th January in the café area of The Salvation Army in Gillygate.
