Vehicle break-ins in Pocklington

The spate of vehicle break-ins in Pocklington continues.

Before Christmas Minster FM told you that tradesmen's tools were stolen from vans in the town.

Now cars are being targeted for any valuables on show.

On Tuesday (3rd January 2012) 2 vehicles were broken in to with an Iphone, cash, sports equipment and clothes taken.

Statement from Humberside Police

The force is reminding people of the importance of not leaving valuables inside vehicles, following two theft from motor vehicles in Pocklington on Tuesday 3rd January 2011.

Between 1830hrs and 2050hrs on Tuesday 3rd January a silver Peugeot 206 and a white coloured Vauxhall Astra van were broken into on Burnby Lane in Pocklington.

Thieves stole a white coloured Iphone 3GS, a rugby kit bag, a small amount of cash, leg and neck braces, protein powder, bank cards, a store voucher, weight lifting wraps and men's sweatshirt from the silver coloured Peugeot.

A silver coloured Sony Ericsson mobile phone, A black Samsung mobile phone, a black wallet, a driving licence, a brown wallet, bank cards and a small amount of cash were stolen from the Astra van.

Police would to remind people that you should protect your vehicles as well as your homes, from opportunist thieves. It is important not to not leave valuables in your vehicles.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have information in connection with the incidents to call Humberside Police tel 101 quoting crime reference number 1883459.
