A North Yorkshire MP is calling on the Government to make fares cheaper.
Yesterday we told you York based National Express is handing back its east coast rail business to public ownership.
Shadow Transport Minster Robert Goodwill, who's also the MP for Scarborough and Whitby wants commuters to reap the benefits when the new publicly-owned company takes over on December the 12th.
Meanwhile York MP Hugh Bayley is concerned a new high speed rail line in the UK not to bypass Yorkshire.
He's concerned not enough work's been done yet, to assess which parts of the country will benefit from the multi-billion-pound investment.
