A British Airways captain, who killed his estranged millionairess wife who was originally from York, has lost his appeal against the length of his sentence.
47 year old Robert Brown had been given 26 years for beating his wife Joanna to death at their home in Berkshire last year.
He dumped her body in Windsor Great Park.
The original court hearing had been told he felt he'd been 'stitched up' by a prenuptial agreement.
BACKGROUND TO CASE
Robert Brown killed his wife with a claw hammer in their family home whilst his two young children cowered in the playroom nearby.
After his arrest he confessed to killing 46 year old Jo, who use to live in Badger Hill in York.
During his 8 day trial, the jury heard he had been consumed by anger during their marriage saying he'd been "stitched up" by a prenuptial agreement.
He also claimed he'd been suffering "severe stress" and an "abnormality of mental function" which impaired his self-control.
