Police hunt wanted man
5:16pm 26th October 2011
Scarborough police are urging the public to help them locate a wanted man.
Andrew John Henry, aged 36, of Ling Hill, is wanted for recall to prison after breaching the terms of his release licence.
Henry, who also uses the names Paul Inch, Paul Raine and Mark Rennings, was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment at York Crown Court in January 2011 for wounding and grievous bodily harm during a domestic in Scarborough in July 2009.
He was released from prison on 8th March 2011 with certain conditions which he has not adhered to after failing to attend an appointment with his supervising officer.
Officers have been making extensive enquiries in the Scarborough area in a bid to locate Henry and are now urging members of the public to help find him.
Superintendent Javad Ali, of Scarborough and Ryedale Safer Neighbourhood Command, said:
“Andrew Henry has shown a blatant disregard for the justice system after failing to stick to the terms of his prison release licence.
“I am appealing to residents and visitors to Scarborough to keep their eyes peeled for Henry and let us know where he is. While we do not believe he poses a danger to the public, we advise that he should not be approached directly.
“If you have any information about his whereabouts, please contact the police or Crimestoppers. The sooner Henry is back behind bars the better.”
Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is urged to contact Scarborough police on 0845 60 60 24 7, quoting reference number 12110177373.
Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
