Escaped Murderer found in Blackpool

A prisoner, who esacaped from a mental health hospital on the outskirts of York, has been found in Blackpool.
42 year old Mark Rutter left Stockton Hall Hospital on Wednesday morning on a scheduled 4 hour unescorted leave.
He didn't arrive back.
Mark Rutter was jailed in 1998 for the murder of his 55 year old mum Mary Josephine Rutter.
He burned her body in a garage at their home in Staffordshire in April 1997.
Since then Mark has spent seven years in jail and another six years in a mental health unit in Stockton-on-the-Forest.
Staff at the hospital discribed his as a “model patient” having made substantial progress in his rehabilitation.
STATEMENT FROM NORTH YORKSHIRE POLICE - 1pm Friday 14th October 2011
North Yorkshire Police can confirm that Mark Rutter is now in police custody in Blackpool.
He was arrested by Lancashire Police at about 12.20noon today, Friday 14th October 2011.
He will be transported back to North Yorkshire in due course.
