Boy knocked off his bike in Helmsley

An 11 year old boy remains in a "poorly but stable" condition in hospital after being knocked off his bike by a car in Helmsley.
The youngster, who's from the town, was riding along the A170 on Tuesday afternoon when the blue Daewoo Matiz hit him.
He's now at Leeds General Infirmary where he's been treated for serious head and pelvic injuries.
North Yorkshire Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
