12:01am 25th September 2011
Children's TV favourite Richard McCourt, of Dick and Dom, is putting his best foot forward for Alzheimer's Society.
The star will start more than 250 people on their way for the charity's York Memory Walk at 11am on Sunday 25th September 2011.
Known for being in 'da Bungalow' and presenting 'Are You Smarter than a 10 Year old?' Richard is also an ambassador for Alzheimer's Society.
"I cared for my Mum who had dementia and understand how hard it is to look after someone with the condition.
"The help we got from Alzheimer's Society services was invaluable and that's why it's important to support Memory Walk.
"The event gives us the opportunity to raise funds for local services that improve the lives of people living with dementia."
Anyone can sign up on the day for the Memory Walk, for more details visit memorywalk.org.uk.
There is a choice of distances of one, six or 10 miles and a vintage theme running throughout the day, including the chance to have a make-over to suit your favourite era. Walkers signing in will also gain free entry to a vintage vehicle display the same day at the same location.
