Man knocked out in York nightclub

York police are appealing to revellers for information after a man suffered a broken jaw during an altercation at the Gallery nightclub in York.

The 20-year-old victim from York was in the nightclub in the early hours of Tuesday 13 September.

At around 1.30am, he was on the basement dance floor when he was punched in the face by an unknown offender and knocked unconscious.

He was taken to York District Hospital where he was treated for a broken jaw.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the nightclub on Monday night/Tuesday morning and can provide any information about the assault to come forward.

DC Mike Avison of York CID who is investigating the attack, said:

“This was a violent assault during which the victim fell unconscious and suffered a very serious facial injury.

“It’s important that anyone who knows anything about the incident comes forward to to help us identify the person who carried out the assault.
