Man arrested after roof top scramble in york

12:13pm 13th September 2011

North Yorkshire police have arrested a man who ended up on the roof of a York hotel.

The 18 year old from West Yorkshire was being chased by police on suspicion of driving whist disqualified.

The driver of the Ford Mondeo failed to stop for police on Tadcaster Road in the city.

The man abandoned the car on Micklegate, before climbing onto the roof of the Premiere Inn at around 3.30am.

Following negotiations with police officers he left the roof of his own accord just before 6.30am when he was arrested and taken in to custody.

The 18 year old remains at the police station in custody.
