Calls for the Chief Constable's salary and pension to be made public

There're calls for North Yorkshire's Chief Constable's salary and pension to be made public.
It's after Grahame Maxwell has had a request for a contract extension turned down.
He was charged with gross misconduct earlier this year over his role in a recruitment drive.
North Yorkshire MP Julian Smith says it's right the Police Authority have decided not to renew Mr Maxwell's contract.
He's spoken to Minster FM:
Cllr Sandy Fraser, Cabinet member for Crime and Community Safety, City of York Council, said:
“It is vital that the chief constable of North Yorkshire Police has the full support of his staff and local residents, so I’m not at all surprised at the Police Authority’s decision not to renew Mr Maxwell’s contract, given recent controversies.
"I’m confident that the Police Authority will appoint a new chief constable who provides the strong leadership that its dedicated workforce needs and the people its serves deserve.”
