Blood pressure check
9:30am 25th July 2011
YorMed ambulance staff will be in Parliament St, York, from 10am until 4pm offering members of the public free blood pressure checks.
They will be in an emergency ambulance and everyone is welcome to come along and have this simple yet potentially lifesaving check done.
Danny Watt, Ambulance Technician with YorMed said:
“It’s important to get your blood pressure checked regularly. High blood pressure can be a sign of an underlying medical problem and early recognition can save lifes!”
The day also raises money for a local charity as the public are asked to make a donation for the check – This year St Leonards Hospice will be the beneficiaries and Lenny Bear will be coming along on the day to show his support. We are hoping to beat last year’s total of £250 which was raised for the British Heart Foundation York Branch.
