A64 crash condition

A 25-year-old man from West Yorkshire remains under bed watch at York District Hospital after the Vauxhall Insignia he was driving was involved in a collision on the A64 near York yesterday (19 July 2011).
His condition is described as stable as he receives treatment for a chest injury sustained in the collision.
The road was closed for around 6 hours.
The driver of a Toyota Avensis, a local man, who suffered a fractured wrist and a broken foot in the incident also remains in York District Hospital in a stable condition.
Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, which occurred at around 11.15am on the Westbound carriageway of the A64 near Fulford Interchange, to contact them with information.
