On duty North Yorkshire policeman falls asleep at the wheel

An on duty North Yorkshire policeman has admitted to falling asleep at the wheel.

40 year old Andrew David Farrar was working a night shift when he crashed in to a park car in Tadcaster back in October.

He admitted the incident was his fault at Scarborough magistrates and was given three penilty points and had to pay a £130 fine and costs £85 and a victim surcharge of £15.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said:

"We are satisfied with the decision of the courts. We have no plans to take any disciplinary action against Sgt Farrar, who will remain in his current post."
