York's budget will be announced today

6:56am 7th February 2011

It D-day for those of you waiting to hear if your job's safe in York.

The council announcing it's budget.

The details will be revealed at around 11 o'clock.

In the mean time here are the latest on the predicted cutbacks...

650 job cuts at the council and dozens of services cuts.

The free childcare Nursery Pilot for 2 year olds is likely to stop.

Car parking in York might go up by about 10 pence an hour from October.

And you may also pay more for concessionary bus fares for park and ride.

On to schools - and they're likely to get 2.8 million for maintenance and repairs, despite bills topping 40 million in the past.

Also our leisure facilities in York run the budget cuts gauntlet too.

The council says it's looking to save 460 grand - that could effect our libraries, sports centres and swimming pools.
