'We are not talking to the crossbow cannibal about Claudia.'

That's what North and West Yorkshire police are saying as a national newspaper reports detectives are questioning imprisoned killer Steven Griffiths.

He was found guilty of murdering three prostitutes in Bradford at the end of last year.

North Yorkshire police have said there is no evidence to connect the investigations together.

Claudia Lawrence was last seen in Heworth on March the 18th 2009.

In responce to the national article, A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said:

"This is simply not the case and whoever has provided the information is wrong. The reality is that neither West Yorkshire Police or North Yorkshire Police have spoken to Griffiths about the disappearance of Claudia Lawrence as he has refused to be interviewed since he was imprisoned. And as North Yorkshire Police has stated previously, there is no evidence to connect the two investigations together."
