Police investigating the death of an elderly woman in Sharow are appealing for help to trace her final movements.

Helen Margaret Holdsworth, aged 87, from Dishforth, was killed in a road traffic collision on Dishforth Road at 5.30pm on Thursday 6th January 2011.

Officers are trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding her death and are appealing to the public to help piece together where she was and what she was doing in the hours leading up to the collision.

Traffic Constable Andy Macleod, of Harrogate Road Policing Group, said:

"It is vital to the investigation that people come forward with information about Mrs Holdsworth's movements prior to the collision on Thursday 6 January 2011.

"We know that she was in Ripon, possibly around 10am, and we would like to hear from anyone who saw her or had any contact with her during the day."

Anyone who was in contact with Mrs Holdsworth, or has any other information that can help the police with their enquiries, is urged to contact TC Andy Macleod, of Harrogate Road Policing Group, on 0845 60 60 24 7, quoting reference number 12110002948.
