Inquest opens over Catterick helicopter crash

An inquest into a helicopter crash near Catterick Garrison back in 2007 will open at Harrogate Magistrates Court later.

28 year old Flight Lieutenant David Sale, Sergeant Philip Burfoot who was 27 and teenager Private Sean Tait all died in the incident.

9 others were injuried.

North Yorkshire Police say, conclusions regarding the cause of the crash can only be draw after all the evidence has been heard.

 

The Puma aircraft came down on a stretch of land known locally as Hudswell Grange.
