City of York Council’s fostering team will be at the York Designer Outlet on Monday 10 January to recruit new foster carers.
Anyone interested in becoming a foster carer are encouraged to attend the event to find out the steps they need to take to become a foster carer in York.
More than 150 York children are looked after by foster carers every year and anyone can become a foster carer, all they need to do is offer a stable and nurturing home to a young person.
Some foster carers offer this for short periods of time, others until they grow up. Foster carers are needed for a variety of reasons and they are offered professional training and advice throughout the process. They will also receive a weekly allowance to cover the cost of looking after each child or young person.
Family placement workers will be available at the outlet between 9.30am and 11am to have a coffee and a chat about fostering.
Look out for City of York Council’s banner on the day, or alternatively speak to any fostering social worker on 01904 555333 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
