A coach driver, who was caught almost twice over the alcohol limit on the A64 in York, has pleaded guilty to numerous offences.

Patrick Joseph Burke from Cheshire was driving a coach load of shoppers, including children, from Manchester to York.

He was almost twice over the legal limit when he was stopped near Bilbrough Top on December 5th 2010.

Passengers on the coach ordered him to pull-over when the vehicle veered out of control.

Today Burke's pleaded guilty to drink driving, driving without due care and attention, fail to stop having collided with a bollard and sign and fail to report a collision.

He's been handed an interim road ban while he awaits sentencing next month.
