Police drop case over rugby match incident

North Yorkshire Police can confirm that no further action will be taken against three men questioned in connection with an incident during a rugby match in York on Saturday 18th September 2010.

York R.I player, Tuui Redrava, aged 30, received serious head injuries during the game against Doncaster Thornensians.

Three of the Doncaster players, a 19 year old man, a 21-year old man, and a 23 year old man were arrested in connection with the incident on Monday 20th September 2010.

Following enquiries the men answered bail on Wednesday 15th December 2010 and were told they face no further police action.

The matter is now being investigated by the Rugby Football Union (RFU).
