York man left potentially scarred for life

A man's been left potentially scarred for life after being glassed in the face in York.

It happened at approximately 3.15am on Saturday 11th December 2010 at the Vudu Lounge on Swinegate.

The 30 year old received a serious wound to the side of the face which required stitches at York District Hospital. 

The offender left the scene shortly after the offence occurred.

Detective Constable Michael Johnston, of York CID, said:

“The victim has been left potentially scarred for life by this incident.

“The bar was very busy at the time of the offence, therefore I am hoping that someone will have information that can help the investigation.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the bar at the time to contact the police or Crimestoppers.”

A 33 year old local man was arrested in connection with the incident, on Lord Mayors Walk at around 3.25am. He is currently on police bail as enquiries continue.
