Patient care outside of working hours is set to change.
7:06am 25th November 2010
Out-of-hours patient care is changing in North Yorkshire.
We have 6 Primary Care Centres in the county but now when you need advise between 11pm and 8am, your call will go to the larger sites in Northallerton, York and Harrogate.
GPs will still be based in Selby, Catterick and Skipton for emergencies - but the NHS has told them they're literally allowed to be asleep on the job.
They'll only be disturbed if a patient needs a face-to-face consultation.
The NHS says the new system will save it cash.
