Knit the bar walls in York

Hundreds of knitters have joinned in Cancer Research UK’s crusade to turn York's bar walls pink this Sunday (21st November 2010).
The charity’s Knit The York Wall initiative is the brainchild of Haxby fundraiser Rachel Speight who's collected enough pink scarves to encircle the historic route.
She has worked out 2,832 scarves, measuring 150cm by 15cm, will be needed to cover the two and a half mile length of the walls.
Rachel's smashed that target though and got in excess of 3,500.
Her goal is to raise awareness of Cancer Research UK’s Join The Fight For Women’s Survival campaign, before selling off the scarves to raise £5,000 for the charity.
Minster FM's Tracy Gee caught up with Rachel this week.
