Men jailed for over 40 years for brutal cannabis factory murder

A very complicated case has come to an end.

Minster FM have had reporting restriction on us by the courts over the last few months but today (September 30th 2010) they've finally been lifted.

We can now reveal the body found in the Burn Canal near Selby back in March 2009 was a Chinese worker who was part of a gang involved in growing and producing canabis.

Detective Superintendent Carnail Dulko explians more:

Well over the last few months members of that gang have been on trial for murder and cannabis cultivation in Elvington.

Two man, Huang Bao Lung, who's 44 and from Fujian in China, and Zhang Zhouli, who's 49 and from Dong Bei in China, were found guilty of murder.

They've been sentenced to life imprisonment.

Huang is to serve a minimum of 18 years and Zhang to serve a minimum of 16 years.

A two more men, 23 year old Wang Shaozhe also from Dong Bei, and Chen Xia Hua, who's 27 and from Fujian, have been found guilty of perverting the course of justice and cannabis production.
