Contaminated takers stolen in Tockwith

Four tankers, containing contaminated water, have been stolen from the Marston Moor Business Park, Tockwith.
The theft occurred between 4pm on Friday 17th September and 8am Monday 20th September.
Each 30,000 litres tanker is holding contaminated water which was collected following a fire at a firm using industrial chemicals last month.
The stolen tankers will bear one of the following serial numbers QSS113, QSS162, QSS61 or B14.
Peter Stevenson, Environment Management Team Leader for the Environment Agency, said:
"The stolen tankers contained contaminated water which had been removed from the BCB site at Tockwith.
"If the thieves are planning to sell on the tankers they would be looking to dump the contents, perhaps down a drain or into a watercourse, we would urge anyone who has seen any such suspicious activity to alert the police or call our incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60."
