Thirsk man dies days after A1 crash

A Thirsk man hass died after a two vehicle crash in North Yorkshire
It happened just after 3pm on Thursday 26th August 2010 on the southbound carriageway of the A1 between junctions 48 and 47.
The 23 year old suzuki driver from Thirsk was taken by air ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary, with critical injuries, where he was pronounced dead on Sunday 29 August 2010.
A 34-year-old from Manchester, who was a rear seat passenger in the Suzuki was also taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he was treated before being released.
A 21-year-old woman and seven month old baby were taken to Harrogate District Hospital where they were treated before being released. All of the injured people were in the Suzuki Swift.
Following the collision the 32-year-old driver of the Mercedes Benz was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He appeared at Harrogate Magistrates' Court on Saturday 28 August and was remanded in custody while police enquiries continue.
