There's good and bad news for York Uni...

Students here have topped the table when it comes to confidence in getting a job after graduation. The uni's been revealed as the number 3 establishment in the UK in terms of where students feel most confident of gaining subsequent employment.

Over three quarters of York students are confident of landing a job the first eyar after finishing their studies, while over 15% believe they'll even walk into their dream job within 12 months of graduating.

BUT the city's also been labelled the toughest place financially to study for the second year running. A lack of part time employments taking the brunt of the blame with the average student here earning just over £70 a week, thats less than half of a student in London's weekly wage.

This year's student index has also revealed that cost of living's becoming more of a concern to prospective applicants with just under a fifth of undergraduates choosing their place of study based solely on this.
