More bad press for bollards in York

Rising bollards in York, which are meant to allow access to the city for public transport and emergency services, seem to be causing more harm than good.
Earlier this month the system at Low Poppleton Lane rose as a taxi was driving over it; the vehicle was written off.
Now Acomb Councillor Tracey Simpson-Laing critising them saying "the bollard only seems to work a fraction of the time."
She wants them removed.
