Budget cuts hit 2 York tourist attractions
8:16am 28th July 2010
Major developments at 2 York attractions could be shelved because of budget cuts.
Yorkshire Forward, the Regional Development Agency, has cancelled their funding for the National Railway Museum and York Minster.
Yorkshire Forward had agreed to fund £5 million of the National Railway Museum’s planned £21 million rejuvenation project and £1 million towards the Minster’s “York Minster Revealed” project.
York MP Hugh Bayley is calling on the Government to fill the funding gap.
