A teenager's recovering after a vehicle-jacking in York.

A teenager's recovering after a vehicle-jacking in York.

The 19 year old was pushed off his black motocross bike in Holgate on Friday night.

The offender stole the bike and made off.

It was found burnt out a short time later.

The police are now tracing a suspect they want to speak too.

The suspect is described as white, aged between 18 and 20 years old, around 6ft tall with a medium build.

He was wearing a dark grey hooded top with the hood pulled up.

DC Julie Carter, of York CID, said: "We are appealing for anyone who has any information about this incident to come forward. In particular a man walking his dog spoke to the victim after the incident and could hold information vital to the enquiry. We would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen a man riding a motorcycle without a helmet in the area at the time."
