The Yorkshire Ripper is asking judges for a ruling on how much longer he must serve in prison before being considered for parole.

The 63 year old Peter Sutcliffe - who's now known as Peter Coonan - will have his case heard at the High Court later.

He was convicted in 1981 of 13 counts of murder and 7 counts of attempted murder in Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.

Sutcliffe  is currently being held in Broadmoor top security psychiatric hospital deemed a paranoid schizophrenic.

Today a tariff will be set for parole eligibility - so will find out if he'll ever be a free man, and if so when.
