New Transport Plan for York
12:32pm 30th June 2010
We're getting a chance to help shape the future of transport in York over the next month.
The survey wants to find out how services can be improved and how more of us might be encourged to use public transport and walk.
The survey is part of the ongoing York's third Local Transport Plan.
The LTP will detail proposals for transport schemes in the city from 2011 onwards. Initial consultation on the vision for transport in York started last year and local communities are now being asked to contribute to the evidence that will help shape the Plan.
The survey focuses on how transport can contribute to improving access to amenities and services, a better environment and a stronger economy in York. It also asks about how more people who live or work in York can be encouraged to use sustainable forms of transport, such as walking, cycling and using public transport for getting around the city.
Anyone who would like to take part can access the survey on the council's website at www.york.gov.uk/consultation/ Responses must be returned by 16 July.
