Man in hospital following collision in North Yorkshire

A mans recovering from serious injuries following a collision on the A169 between Pickering and Whitby last night.
The 48 year olds motorcycle was involved in a collision with a goods vehicle - he's in Hull Infirmary this morning. It occured at approximately 4.30pm and involved a blue Kawasaki motorcycle being ridden by a 48-year-old man from West Yorkshire and Volvo lorry which was heading towards Pickering.
The rider of the motorcycle received serious injuries and was taken to Scarborough District Hospital by air ambulance before being transferred to Hull Royal Infirmary, where his condition is improving.
A second collision on the same stretch of road involved a red Honda motorcycle heading towards Whitby, being ridden by a 43-year-old man from Guisborough, which collided with a silver BMW car and a dark coloured Volvo car. Noone was injured as a result of this incident.
Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who was travelling along the A170 from Helmsley to Pickering and the A169 Pickering to Saltergate Bank between 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm and saw either of the motorbikes.
Anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of any of the vehicles, involved in either incident, prior to the collisions or has any information that can help
