Man kicked in the head in York

Man kicked in the head in York

12:10pm 2nd June 2010

A 25 year old man is recovering after being pushed over and kicked in the head in York.

Between 9pm and 9:30pm on Friday 28 May, the victim was walking alone along the cycle track between the bridge of Haxby Road and Ashville Street in York. He was approached by three men who were loitering under the bridge.

The men chased the victim to the entrance of Ashville Street where one of the men pushed him over and stole a black Samsung mobile phone, a small amount of cash and a packet of cigarettes, before kicking the victim in the head.

The three then ran off on the direction of Clifton, going back under Haxby Road Bridge.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Ashville Street, the cycle track or Haxby Road on Friday night and saw any of the men or the actual incident, along with anyone else who may have information about the robbery to contact them.
