Risking their safety just to stay fashionable. That's just what hundreds of cyclists are doing in York as they refuse to wear a helmet.
Catherine Highnermyer is a local mum who's teaching her kids to ride a bike. She says cyclists have got to be a bit more safety-savy. Catherine insists on her children wearing a helmet, but knows many parents don't bother.
Meanwhile there are calls for safety inspections on Fulford Road after a number of cyclists have been knocked down in recent months.
A 40 year old women, hit by a bus on Thursday, remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Residents living near the scene have told Minster FM alterations to the stretch of road are putting lives at risk. They're calling for the situation to be reviewed.
