Fresh searches in the hunt for Claudia Lawrence. North Yorkshire Police have spent two days searching a house and nearby land in Ellerton.

We believe around 20 officers were at the property in East Yorkshire on Monday 24th and Tuesday at 25th May. It is thought some items have been removed for forensic analysis but no one has been arrested.

The police also confirmed underwater search teams were brought in to search culverts surrounding the property.

These searches were sparked by a 'recent development within the investigation'.

Claudia was last seen leaving her workplace at the University of York on 18th March 2009. Her disappearance is being treated as suspected murder.

The investigation is one of the largest ever conducted by North Yorkshire Police and has so far cost more than £600,000.
