Sutton Bridge closing June 14th
3:50pm 21st May 2010
(Updated 5:44pm 24th May 2010)
It's now been officially confirmed, Sutton Bridge in Elvington will close for six week for restoration work from Monday June 14th 2010.
The grade-two listed structure needs repairing after a large vehicle collided with it in January.
It's another blow for local businesses as trade is likely to be effected with less commutors passing through the area.
Tom, who owns the local convenience store, has told Minster FM he's extending his opening hours to 6am until 9pm seven days a week to try and keep afloat.
He's also making free deliveries to residents.
While the work is carried out all vehicles will be diverted along the A1079.
