Excitement and anticipation in North Yorkshire this morning as the Queen is paying us a visit. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are in Scarborough to officially open the newly restored £3.5 million Open Air Theatre in North Bay.
Their schedule includes watching a theatrical performance at the theatre, a visit to the new Hares Leap farm shop in Burniston and a visit to Town Farm in Cloughton.
The party have lunch at the Blacksmith's Arms with Duchy of Lancaster residents. Tony Arnall, landlord of the pub, says that to his knowledge this will be the Queen's first ever pub lunch.
A large security operation was set up ahead of the historic Royal visit. It is the first to the resort since July 1975 and is thought to be one of the biggest police operations in the area in recent years.
