A forensic scientist has given evidence in court over the Norton Flat Fire in which two trainee jockey's died.

Jeffrey Gray claims the blaze was started deliberately and spread rapidly, as a lot of flammable material was stored in the hallway at Buckrose Court.

He also told the jury the staircase design, used in the building, would have produced a chimney effect that sent the fire up to the top floor.

37 year old Peter Brown denies five charges, including two of murder and one of arson with intent to endanger life.
