Lawyers for a York soldier who was jailed for refusing to fight in Afghanistan, will lodge an appeal against his sentence at the High Court today.
Lance Corporal Joe Glenton from York was jailed for nine months after
admitting a court martial charge of going awol.
The 27-year-old, of the Royal Logistic Corps, argued he suffered from post
traumatic stress disorder after his first tour of duty in the war zone.
Joe's wife Claire has travelled down to be with him for today's hearing. She is hoping that her husbands case will make a difference and help other soldiers in a similar situation.
