More help needed to tackle childhood obesity in York
5:48am 19th April 2010
Is the high price of school dinners in York contributing the the city's child obesity problems?
We've got the third lowest up-take for school meals in the country, when comparing us with council's of a similar size.
That's being blamed on the fact that prices top £2.15 per meal - compared to £1.30 elsewhere. If kids have a choice they just eat what they want.
In addition officials say two hours of physical education a week isn't enough.
