Teenager threatened with a knife by masked man in York

A York teenager's been threaten by a masked man brandishing a knife.
At around 3.30am on Saturday, the 17 year old was approached as he walked home along Fossway.
His attacker stole his mobile phone and wallet.
The offender, who was dressed all in black, is described as white, aged around 19-years-old, 5ft 6in tall with a stocky build and blond hair which was noticeable beneath the black balaclava covering his face.
Following the robbery the offender made off in the direction of Dodsworth Avenue.
DC Matt Dodson of York CID, said: “I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident but it does highlight the risks of walking alone in the hours of darkness.
“The victim was left shaken but was otherwise unhurt by this incident. However, we are keen to trace the man involved.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the robbery to get in touch with the police or Crimestoppers immediately.
“Anyone who was in the area of Fossway or Dodsworth Avenue in the early hours of Saturday morning may have information that could help the investigation.”
