Car park attendant threatened with a knife in York
10:48am 19th March 2010
An attendant has been threatened with a knife at the NCP car park on Tanners Row in York.
He was then punched in the face - as the offender made off with some cash.
The offender is described as white, around 6ft tall with a stocky build. He was dressed in a black jacket, black jeans and black shoes and was wearing a balaclava and gloves which were also black.
The victim, a 43-year-old local man, did not require treatment but was left shaken by the incident.
DC Lee Boyeson, of York CID, said the victim is “shocked and upset” by this incident and police are keen to find the offender as quickly as possible. I am appealing to anyone who was near the car park at the time of the incident to think back and see if they remember anyone acting suspiciously.
“It was quite early in the morning but people may have been on their way to work or on their way home from a night shift and could have seen something that will help the investigation.
“If anyone saw a man matching the description of the offender or has any other information that could help the enquiry then I urge you to contact the police or Crimestoppers immediately.”
