Public urged to report sightings of wanted man

Police have issued a public appeal to find a man who failed to appear at court in connection with offering bogus gardening services to vulnerable people near Harrogate.
David Smith, aged 51 and of Bedworth, in Warwickshire, was due to appear at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court in October 2014, to answer three charges of fraud relating to cold calling and taking cash payments in advance for work which he didn’t complete.
Smith is alleged to have committed the offences in the Summerbridge area in November 2013.
Officers are appealing to anyone with information that can help locate Smith to come forward as soon as possible.
He is known to have connections in the West Midlands, Doncaster, Sheffield, Selby and Leeds.
Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Bill Hickson or Pateley Bridge police.
