The Archbishop of York Dr John Sentamu has urged everyone to make the most of the last day of Advent and to ‘Make Room for the Manger’ this Christmas.
Throughout Advent, the Archbishop has been tweeting daily messages from @JohnSentamu about preparing for Christmas with Gospel Readings available from his website. The Archbishop has also encouraged people to follow Jesus’ invitation to follow Him and to use the Love Life Live Advent booklet.
The Archbishop of York said: “Don’t be afraid – there are many things in life that frighten us but the Christmas message is one of joy and of not being fearful. Like the shepherds are told in the Gospel Reading, Christmas is a day of good news, a day of great joy and a day to give thanks. Are you ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus? Make room for the Manger! Happy Christmas and May God richly bless you”.
The Archbishop has recorded a Gospel Reading and a reflection on Luke 2. 1-14 http://www.archbishopofyork.org/articles.php/3198/archbishop-of-york-thanks-god-for-christmas
