84 Year Old Cyclist in Hospital After York Lorry Collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was knocked off her bike in York.

The woman, aged 84, suffered a leg injury when she was hit by a large goods vehicle on Huntington Road at the junction with Gladstone Street, at around 8.50am on Monday 8 December 2014.

She is currently recovering in York Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene and headed off in the direction of York city centre.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them with information.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Cheryl Hunter or York police.
